Abusing drugs can lead to drug dependence. The Anti-Drug Levy funds four unique programs to assist individual and families addicted to alcohol, illegal drugs or misuse of prescription drugs.

Cathy's House serves the community by providing a sober living environment for individuals making the transition from addiction to sobriety.  Cathy's House provides sober support for men and women 18 years and older.

Recidivism Prevention Specialist provides assistance for Medina County Residents in need of indigent detoxification services. The Recidivism Prevention Specialist will provide coordination of care and contact while the individual is in detox and will link the individual to follow-up treatment.  In addition to linkage and referral the Recidivism Prevention Specialist assists an individual in meeting basic needs by assisting him/her to remove barriers, thus increasing the chances for successful recovery through linkage and referral to other commu
nity resources, coordination with other agencies and client advocacy.  The Recidivism Prevention Specialist works to ensure engagement in treatment by providing aggressive outreach, wrap-around and intensive case management services.   

Juvenile Drug Court Program

The Juvenile Drug Court Program coordinates client case management and probation supervision.  Regular review meetings and frequent court hearings monitor's each offender's situation.  Graduated sanctions and tangible rewards are used to motivate offender compliance.  Treatment services are provided that include youth and parent counseling, family home-based services and mental health-related services including individual counseling and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
