September is Recovery Month.

In celebration of Recovery Month and to recognize people in Recovery the Drug Abuse Commission together with the New Era Kite Club of West Virginia and Fighting for Alyssa is presenting our fourth annual Kite Fest at Buckeye Woods Park on Saturday September 7th from 10a.m. to 3 p.m.   This is a FREE family friendly event.

Kites are a symbol of freedom and movement from darkness to light which truly symbolizes Recovery. Medina County Share Cluster and student volunteers will provide fun-filled drug prevention activities, face painting and balloon animals.  Medina County Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. Car and K-9 Unit will share the day with us.

Marie's Cafe and Catering 117 Public Square will be at the Park providing food for sale.

This year the 5Walk/Run and 1 Mile Fun Run sponsored by Running to be Well of Medina County will take place before the Kite Fest at 10:00 a.m.  All registrations and donations will benefit Fighting for Alyssa.  Fighting for Alyssa is a non-profit organization in Medina County dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of substance abuse and addiction in our communities.
